Therapeutic Principles
In anthroposophic art therapy, the therapeutic work is grounded in a view of the human being as body, soul, and spirit, in continuous development across the lifespan. Art processes are chosen and guided so that they support this threefold, living organisation rather than focusing primarily on symptom relief.
Core therapeutic principles include:
Process as formative force: Painting, drawing, modelling, and other media are engaged with as living processes that can harmonise and “re-form” inner experience, not just express it. The way colour flows, line is led, or form is shaped is seen as actively influencing soul life and bodily organisation. Find out more by clicking on the event
Sauna Fest 26
Dr Drexel is the keynote speaker at the Sauna Fest. Sauna Fest is The Sauna Project’s annual gathering, where our franchise network brings together their wood-fired mobile saunas from all over NZ for one wholesome weekend. Over 20 saunas will be scattered along the lake and through the bush, each creating a unique experience. Some are silent, some are women’s only, some are family-friendly and there are plenty more themes to explore.
Sleep - The Secret Half of Life
Sleep is one of the most powerful natural processes supporting healing and renewal in the human body. During sleep, the brain reorganises information and strengthens memory and learning. At the same time, the immune system becomes more active and repairs cellular damage. Hormones regulating metabolism, growth, and stress are carefully balanced during the night. Deep sleep allows the nervous system to recover from the demands of the day.The brain also clears metabolic waste products through its nightly cleansing processes. Healthy sleep supports emotional stability and psychological resilience. It reconnects us with our spiritual sources. Insufficient sleep, by contrast, increases the risk of chronic illness, depression, and cardiovascular disease. When sleep becomes regular and restorative, many aspects of health improve naturally. In this way, sleep can be understood as one of the most fundamental medicines available to every human being. Click on the event to read more
The Art of Curative Eurythmy
Seminar
The Art of Curative Eurythmy is a gentle yet profound therapeutic movement practice that arises from Anthroposophical Medicine. It works with conscious movements that are connected with the sounds of speech, music and the gestures of life itself. Through these movements, the human organism is addressed as a whole: body, soul, and spirit. The exercises stimulate self-regulation and strengthen the organism’s own healing forces. Breathing, circulation, metabolism, and the nervous system can come into greater balance.

New Ground Festival
A Treasure Trove of Ideas: Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Anthroposophy, left us a vast collection of books, lectures, and insights on life, death, and everything in between. He was also an extremely practical man and ensured that Anthroposophy could be expressed in practical ways. As a result, we now have Waldorf Schools (also known as Steiner Schools), Biodynamics (anthroposophical agriculture), and Anthroposophical Medicine (in Germany, there are entire hospitals that practice Anthroposophical medicine), among many other practical applications of Anthroposophy. The centre of Anthroposophy is in Dornach, Switzerland, where all the different sections of the movement are based. You can read more about these various sections here.
A Personal Growth Journey: Anthroposophy isn’t just about reading—it’s about doing. Steiner laid out practical steps for self-discovery and connecting with your spiritual self. It’s a way to understand yourself, find your purpose, and explore your relationship with the universe. Over the course of the weekend, we aim to do jus this, to engage with Anthroposophy in ways that create meaning in our lives.
